Why the lounge?
simple..because when u feel bored..just visit the blog..relax and read something..:)
and why the word 'curiosity' in the address..?
because nothing written here will be ordinary..no don't worry..am not gonna write long poems or fantasy stories that take 3 readings to comprehend..whatever is written here will be snippets nd stories and anecdote and tales and views nd debates and ideas that are not what u see everyday..out of the beaten track..and enough to spark curiosity..
Unlike many of us..i don't proclaim to be a great author or poet..hell m just 18..but i have very strong views and opinions and sometimes controversial ones..whatever it be..its gonna make you curious enough to sit down and read..

I honestly wont rite every word here..some posts will be 100% mine..but some will be interesting anecdotes and tales i'v come across and want to share..and in those cases a copy paste is enough i guess..with some editing of course..
anyway..its the end product that matters..
happy readi-tainment guys!
do visit often..there will always be something exciting waiting for you! either u'l want to hug me or punch me!! just kidding..go on..happy reading :P

Got ya!

English really seems to be going through some grand evolution..
And thats no bad thing..of course..because every language needs to evolve with changing times and changing needs..thats how sanskrit evolved..today its extinct..and we have hindi. Few centuries back..English was so different we would have mighty troubles understanding those texts today..even Shakespearean texts of a couple of centuries back have many now-obsolete words..phrases..and usages. But as i said..languages do NEED to evolve..and the same has happening to english..we no longer use 'thou' and 'thy' and phrases like 'in good cheer' in our english today which were very much used by authors of victorian era..thomas hardy..bronte sisters..conrad..and so on..they have fast become obsolete and too ornamental for today's usage..and so..necessarily enough..english has evolved..keeping pace with our lifestyle.

But now..having said that..our 'indian' english is going out of track..I'l get straight to the point..
why do people need to say 'ya' instead of 'you'? like..if u want to shorten the word..use 'u'..why 'ya'..?? i'v seen very often recently..people saying..'howz  ya'? And i think..its just a pathetic inferiority complex we indians have..to get an accent to their language..in spoken english and now quite clearly..even in written english!!everyone wants to sound stylish..status statement..everyone wants to sound awesome in english..and so..without any necessity..you becomes ya..where in fact 'u' would have been much easier..there are so many examples..'of' becomes 'a'..'not' becomes 'nah'..'m not gonna hate u' becomes 'm nah gonna hate ya'..
it sounds mexican! what..are we americans? mexicans? cowboys? y then?? simple..inferiority complex..as if givin a lilt to the english will make us more stylish or sumthng..
and while we leave no stones unturned to shine up our spoken english..by a RD survey 2009, our grammar (we indians) is becoming more and more pathetic..bordering on horrible..and the two form a hilariously deadly combo..
i am not against sms english..in fact i think english IS going to evolve and sms english will become common within a century..and it needs to..we dont have time to write extensively nowadays..the sorter the better..but what m talking about isnt 'shortening'..its 'twisting'..giving an accent..
trying to "give accent to our words" is hopelessly an inferiority complex..no use of it at all..i dont see why we need to pet this inferiority complex..and actually it doesnt sound stylish either..
funny..we declare ourselves to be patriots..and are ashamed of our way of speaking! not that it isn't good enough..its just normal proper UK english!

dont take offense to this guys..i know many of u may..cuz i'v noticed this very often among my mates..
but cmon..m juz discussing..open to discussion..peaceful one..:P

  2. "lemme" and "gonna" are a part of the accent as well,i suppose.
But the whole thing is not just about shortening; I gets weird wen people SAY "bdw" instead of "by the way"[i find it easier to say by the way] and WRITE "ya" instead of "u".
And shortening is not that necessary,at least while speaking. It takes very little extra effort to spell or speak the whole word.!!
